Every afternoon I stand by a second floor window in the Ed Sullivan Theater and take mediocre photos of guests as they enter and leave the Late Show with David Letterman. In the foreground of each shot is a wad of old gum I noticed on the window ledge. There may be better paparazzi photos on the internet, but this is the only place you'll find the juxtaposition of celebrities and hardened gum. Enjoy!

Rachel Maddow
Ms. Maddow may be down to earth in most respects, but she does enjoy some perks of belonging to the media elite. How many "regular folks" own a custom-made leather waffle case?
Waffles and gum: breakfast of champions. She is also the first celebrity to walk over the ventilation grate in the sidewalk. Isn't that where Marilyn Monroe's famous dress-blowing-up scene was filmed?

ReplyDeleteOh, MARILYN Monroe. That makes more sense. I somehow thought it was bluegrass pioneer Bill Monroe whose dress was blown up by the subway air.
